Liis Veelma has been birding for 15 years, first in Ontario and now, with gusto, in Manitoba. She is active in the Manitoba birding community, and is currently participating in the most recent Manitoba Avian Research Committee projecta new bird-finding guide to southern Manitoba. This spring, she will volunteer at the Delta Marsh Bird Observatory, as well as on several survey projects and bird walks, and the local Manitoba Naturalists Society. After that, as a recent retiree, she will have more time to devote to traveling, mainly in Canada from coast to coast to coastif only she can tear herself away from the great birding right there in Manitoba.
Liis will receive a Minox 8 x 32 BA binocular, donated by Leica Sport Optics, for submitting correct answers for all six quizzes posted between October 2004 and March 2005.
