Rob Lengacher makes his home in Tallahassee, FL with his wife, Julie, and their two daughters, Grace and Mary. Rob is an Assistant Professor at Florida State University School where he teaches math and science courses in the middle school. He also leads outdoor summer camps at the Tallahassee Museum during the summer. As a teacher and camp leader Rob loves to to convey science and math concepts by peppering his students with activities and anecdotes about birds and birding, including Classroom FeederWatch.
Rob has only been birding since 2001, but has loved the outdoors since a child. With little time for hardcore birding, Rob has mastered the art of the 20-minute birding stop. He likes to encourage folks of all ages to enjoy birds and hopes that this prize will encourage his wife to take up the hobby.
Rob will receive a Monarch 8x42 binocular, donated by Nikon, for submitting correct answers for all six quizzes posted between October 2005 and March 2006.
